The Chihuahua is the smallest dog breed and takes its name from the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. Chihuahuas have a wide variety of fur colors and hair thicknesses.
Chihuahua is a balanced and graceful dog with terrier-like behavior, weighing no more than 6 pounds. The rounded head “apple” is a characteristic of the breed. Erect ears and full, bright eyes are extremely expressive. Coats come in many colors and patterns and can be long or short. The varieties are identical except for the coat.
